Just to give you an idea of how really, truly normal my home is - and that this is not a home organizer in disguise - I'll give you a before and after of my bedroom dresser.

So how did I do it?
3 simple steps:
- Divide everything on the dresser into piles: Garbage, belongs in another room, belongs in a drawer or shelf in my room.
- Throw out all the garbage
- Put every item that belongs in another room in it's correct place
- Put everything that belongs in my room in the correct drawer or shelf
- Dust and windex the dresser surface
And voila! That's a glimpse into a real life Hopeless Housekeeper 20 minute organizing session.
